1. Immediate Steps After Acceptance

1.1 Submit Your Confirmation of Acceptance Form

Confirm your attendance to 1688�� through the . Log in to this page using your 1688�� ID number or Social Security Number, and your date of birth. Beneath your admissions decision, select “Confirmation of Acceptance”. Complete the form as appropriate.

You will not have to pay a “confirmation” fee. You will only need to submit the form via your check application status page.

1.2 Activate Your 1688�� Account
You will use the same username and password to log in to a number of important university systems. to find your username and enroll in the password management system.

Note: When setting up your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), before setting up biometric approvals (face/fingerprint), please define your phone for calls and texts to prevent issues when authenticating to additional devices.

Once you have activated your 1688�� account, for your security, all 1688�� contact and correspondence will be sent to your 1688�� email account. Please also use your 1688�� email account when contacting 1688�� faculty and staff. It is important to be checking this email consistently on a weekly or daily basis.

Note: After a student is admitted, it may take up to 48 hours before the student's information is available to activate. If you are not able to activate your 1688�� account after 48 hours, contact the IT Service Desk at 706-864-1922 for assistance with activation.

Once complete, then you will be able to access and explore:

1.3 Apply for Financial Aid

Transient students begin the process at their home institution’s Registrar office by requesting Transient Permission. This is followed by contacting their home institutions Financial Aid Office. They will advise you on how to receive federal and state aid funds. They may ask you to complete an aid request form or a Consortium Agreement. HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship will pay here at 1688��, where you are taking transient coursework. Federal Aid (Pell Grant and Federal Student Loans) will be paid from your home institution.

It is not uncommon that you may have to prepay your balance at 1688�� and then be reimbursed after the start of the semester when your financial aid will be released to you. If you are not able to prepay, contact the 1688�� Financial Aid Office and we will see what we can do to hold your schedule while your financial aid is being processed.

1.4 Complete Your Transient Student Orientation Requirement

Transient students attend Orientation online rather than in-person. To access Orientation, select the Orientation button on the right-hand sidebar of the . There is no charge for online Transient Student Orientation.

Note: You must submit your confirmation of acceptance before accessing the orientation reservation system.

1.5 Complete eCore Introduction Quiz

Complete the whether or not you plan to take an online course at this time. The quiz takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

eCore courses are designed, developed, taught and supported by faculty and staff from the University System of Georgia (USG) and are a great option for completing core curriculum requirements.

Please note: The (start/stop dates) is different from the normal 1688�� academic calendar.

Refer to the 1688�� Online Learning web page for an explanation of the difference between eCore classes and 1688�� Online classes, as well as other important information.

2. Actions to Complete Prior to Class Registration

2.1 Submit a Photo for Your 1688�� ID Card (Nighthawks Card)

Visit the 1688�� ID Card Photo Submission page to see photo guidelines and the photo submission portal. Students required to attend orientation must upload a photo at least three business days prior to your orientation session.

Note: Online Photo Submission for new terms will not be available until the below dates.

2.2 Schedule an Academic Advising Appointment

You are not required to complete an advising appointment at 1688�� and should meet with the academic advisor at your home institution for course planning.

2.3 Check for Holds
Log in to and select the Student view

On the Banner Student Home Page, underneath the “Student Services” section, select “Student Profile”

On the right-hand side, select "Holds"

Orientation (OR) Hold: If you have an OR hold, please note it will be automatically removed once you complete orientation requirements.

Registration Agreement Needed (RN) Hold: This hold prohibits registration. It is required every six months.

To remove the hold:

Log in to and select the Student view

Select the four-square icon in the upper left corner

Select "Banner"

Select "Student"

Select ""

Read the terms of agreement and select "I agree" at the bottom

Once "I agree" is selected, the hold will be removed

Reference the Student Holds website for an explanation of other holds and how to remove them.

Immunization Hold: Please note you are required to have up-to-date immunization records on file with Student Health Services. If you have an immunization hold, updates are needed. You can contact Student Health Services for more information. This hold will prevent you from registering for classes.

2.4 Set Up Your Accessibility Accommodations (If Applicable)

If you previously had an IEP, 504 plan, or other documentation that would reflect the need for accommodations, or currently have accommodations through your home institution, contact the Office of Student Accessibility Services to discuss your specific needs and the process to receive accommodations at 1688��.

3. Class Registration and Tuition Payment

3.1 Class Registration

Registration time-tickets are assigned automatically to transient student accounts approximately a week prior to registration.

3.2 Schedule Adjustments

Students have until noon on the last day of drop/add to make schedule adjustments, pending course availability.

Find information on how to register using the Nighthawk Registration system. You will be able to search for in-person, hybrid, and online courses within the Nighthawk Registration system.

3.3 Review Invoice, Pay Tuition and Fee Bill, and Sign Up for Payment Plan

Visit the Payment Deadlines & Information webpage for approximate information on when to pay fees. Learn more about viewing and paying your student invoice.

If you have been classified as an out-of-state resident for tuition classification purposes but believe this designation is incorrect, please review the residency policy and complete the Application for In-State Tuition.

4. Actions to Complete Before the Start of Classes

4.1 Order Your Virtual Parking Permit

All vehicles on campus are required to register for a valid 1688�� parking permit. Parking permits will be available for registration for summer and fall starting on August 1. Students beginning classes in the summer semester do not need to register for a parking permit until August 1.

4.2 Review the Tech Talk Guide

The Tech Talk guide is an introduction to the highly utilized technologies available at 1688��. Students should be familiar with each of the items in this guide.

To access the Tech Talk Checklist, log in to . Go to Menu Bar on the left side of the 1688�� Connect home page. Scroll down to My Checklist and click on Tech Talk Guide. You will see a series of items with clickable links. As you complete each item, please mark the checkbox. Keep going until your completion bar reads 100%.

4.3 Order Textbooks
